Pretty Lame: The Typewriter of Word Processing.
Difficult to use.
It has its own discrete non-adjustable "line spacings" where you can place your insertion point. This may or may not overlap well with the PDF form you are trying to fill out. Its always a little too high or a little too low - similar to using an old manual typewriter, if you remember what that was like. Why cant I adjust in pixel increments? This is the 21st century!
It is difficult to align text lines with each other so that the initial characters in each row line up. There are no defaults, no reference indicators - you just have to eyeball it.
Text could be pasted from other documents, but only text. I was unable to copy/paste my written signature from elsewhere. So, how does one "sign" a pdf document? Using the pencil tool. Try signing your name using the track pad on your laptop - this is really not satisfactory -- look at the signature "Phil" in the screenshot example. Thats really what you get. Why cant I paste images?
Maybe there is another way to do this that I couldnt figure out right away -- the Marquis tool seemed to work … maybe there are some things I can drag from other documents … not sure. Does anyone else have a solution on how to include a "written" signature on an pdf form using this app?
You actually can use check marks instead of "Xs" It is under the Special Characters menu. Another reviewer was looking for this.
To use it, it seemed that I had to have first opened a PDF using some other program, like Preview, say. Only then could I start the app, and then I had to re-open the target pdf again from FormFiller -- not intuitive, at all.
Many of the menu items are not active. Undo Typing and ReDo, for example, are not available. Expected editing functions just are not here. It works more like a typewriter than a word processor.
The palette tools, fonts, etc. are minimal - not many options.
The Help Menu is a cruel joke. It seems to be lifted completely from some other program, like a Mac OS perhaps. I could not find a single entry that was related to the program to which it is actually attached. Apple SHOULD BE AWARE OF THIS - at the very least it is plagiarism. It is useless as a Help menu for FormFiller.
It worked; I got my form filled out, but I want my money back. Really I do. How does one do that in a App Store? Are not programs here vetted by Apple. I do not see how this made it though. Yes, it functions, but it should have failed the review process just for being lame.
